For this project, we had to choose a recognizable person, a place, and a thing. I chose Steve Jobs as my person, a laptop/Macintosh as the place, and an iPhone as the thing. We also had to utilize conceptual tools (addition, subtraction, substitution, scale, distortion, and color/value change) to add to our compositions. I used scale change to emphasize the fact that I chose an object as a location (the Macintosh) and that Steve Jobs is tiny. I used addition to emphasize that Steve Jobs would be old today, so there would need to be multiple of him to be able to use a newer website to buy the newest iPhone 🤣. I started out with using a MacBook as the location, but pushed my design to use the Macintosh instead, and I think the change was necessary. I used the ‘Steve Jobs color palette’ using his skin tone, and his iconic black turtle neck and jeans. I liked adding the Gaussian blur and the glow of the computer screen to add that small but important detail.
